The staff and providers at Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) in Dawsonville welcomes Dr. John Travis Nelson, MD, to the practice.
Dr. Nelson received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Virginia Tech-Carilion Clinic where he served as Chief Resident. He went on to complete his primary/sports medicine fellowship at AnMed Health in Anderson, SC and is board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.

NGPG Family Medicine in Dawsonville offers comprehensive healthcare for patients of all ages, providing routine and preventive health evaluations for adults and children and treatment of chronic and acute illness, as well as treatment of minor injuries. Additionally, Dr. Nelson sees children, two years and up for their primary care needs. He has additional training in sports medicine that enables him to offer non-operative orthopedic management and treatment for musculoskeletal injuries. These services include therapeutic injections, ultrasound guided procedures and osteopathic manipulation treatments.
NGPG offers internal medicine, family medicine and pediatric care at its Dawsonville location, conveniently located on the second floor of Medical Plaza 400 at 108 Prominence Court.
