The staff and providers at Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Primary Care welcome Babette Irizarry, MD, to the practice in Gainesville.
Dr. Irizarry, who speaks English and Spanish, received her medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, and then went on to complete her residency in Family Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Irizarry is board certified in Family Medicine and is especially interested in women’s health, as well as educating children about their health.
“I’m thrilled to be in Gainesville, working to serve this community in such a beautiful region,” Dr. Irizarry said. “Getting to work alongside such a talented and skilled group of physicians is exactly what I was looking for.”
After spending the past couple of years taking care of her mother in Puerto Rico, Dr. Irizarry and her husband, Dr. Harrison Herron, decided to move to Georgia after Dr. Herron also accepted a job with NGPG. Now, they’re both closer to his daughter and will get to enjoy doing the things they love together. On top of spending time with family, Dr. Irizarry enjoys reading, cooking and making jewelry.
NGPG’s physicians and advanced practice providers diagnose and treat multiple medical problems for patients of all ages, ranging from sore throat to heart disease and everything in between. NGPG is honored to care for families when they’re well and when they’re not well. NGPG Primary Care is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. They are located at 1292 Athens Street in Gainesville, just behind the Hall County Health Department. Call 770-219-9400 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Irizarry or visit ngpg.org/irizarry to learn more.
NGPG is an affiliate of Northeast Georgia Health System.
