Patients living in the south Hall and northern Gwinnett areas now have easier access to care, thanks to a new Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) family medicine practice that recently opened. NGPG Family Medicine is now accepting new patients at Medical Plaza 1 in Braselton.
“We saw a need and knew we could fill it with a couple great doctors in this growing area,” said Daniel Tuffy, president and chief administrative officer for NGPG.
Jody Bahnmiller-Brasil, MD, joined the practice when it opened in April. She had been working at NGPG’s academic family medicine practice in Gainesville as an attending, overseeing the resident physicians in the practice for years.
“I’m thrilled to be stepping back into a full-time family medicine physician role,” Dr. Bahnmiller-Brasil said. “I’m excited to meet folks in this community, watch this practice grow and provide inclusive and affirming care for each patient who steps through our door.”
Maria Baumgartner, MD, also worked at the academic family medicine practice in Gainesville alongside Dr. Bahnmiller-Brasil – but Dr. Baumgartner was a resident physician there. After completing her residency and moving to the west coast to practice, she and her husband – who is also a doctor with NGPG – decided to come back to the Hall County area to join NGPG.
“I loved this area so much, I missed it as soon as I left,” Dr. Baumgartner said. “It’s an honor to help start a practice in this area, and work alongside an established provider like Dr. Bahnmiller-Brasil.”
NGPG Family Medicine is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at 1515 River Place, Suite 310 in Braselton. Call 770-848-9310 to schedule an appointment, or visit ngpg.org/family-medicine/braselton to learn more.
