Adventurous spirit and skilled expertise: Dr. Jason Wells joins NGPG surgical associates in Bethlehem

Jason Wells, MD, and his family love nothing more than a great adventure, traveling to new places and immersing themselves in different cultures. This passion for discovery and connection has led him to Bethlehem, where he’s now a board-certified general surgeon providing expert and compassionate care to the community.

“I grew up in a military family, and we moved around a lot,” says Dr. Wells, a general surgeon with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Surgical Associates. “My parents eventually settled in Georgia, and my wife and I fell in love with the area. It’s not often a surgeon gets to move into a brand-new building in a fast-growing community and perform surgery just a few miles away in the local hospital, so we feel blessed to be here.”

Dr. Wells sees patients at NGPG Surgical Associates’ office inside Medical Plaza 1 on Loganville Highway, just off Highway 316. The building is also home to an Urgent Care center and other physician practices, including family medicine, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, and OB/GYN care.

“People can get so many of their healthcare needs taken care of in one place, which is either right around the corner from home or on the way to work,” says Dr. Wells. “When we’re all busy and time is precious, it doesn’t get more convenient than that.”

Medical Plaza 1 is part of Northeast Georgia Health System, which also includes Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Barrow – an award-winning hospital in Winder where Dr. Wells performs surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his general surgery residency at Greenville Health System in South Carolina.

“I perform a wide range of surgical procedures, and I have a special interest in breast surgery and the treatment of soft tissue conditions that require surgery – like cysts and moles,” says Dr. Wells.
