Since 2008, Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) and the Hall County Health Department have worked together to make health care more accessible for patients who can’t always afford the services they need. Now many of those patients will visit a beautiful new office, as NGPG and the Health Department recently cut the ribbon to officially open the new NGPG Community Clinic in Gainesville at 1292 Athens Street.

“This new building is a fresh start for the care we’ve been providing at this location for more than 15 years,” said Antonio Rios, MD, chief of population health at Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS). “We’re proud to continue serving this community we’ve been a part of for so long.”

In this new space, NGPG will continue to provide primary care, medication assistance, diabetes education, behavioral health services and social work services – all available at reduced costs based on what each patient can afford, regardless of insurance. “Our patients deserve to be treated in the same modern, welcoming environment as anyone else,” said Georgina Kalaitzidis, MD, a longtime physician at NGPG Community Clinic. “It’s all part of our mission to improve the health of the community in all we do.”

Dr. Kalaitzidis, along with Babette Irizarry, MD, and Samantha Wilson, PA, are accepting new patients. The clinic is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. To learn more or schedule an appointment, visit ngpg.org/community-clinic or call 770-219-9400.

“This is an exciting milestone for the Health Department Campus project and for the citizens of Hall County,” said Hall County District 4 Commissioner Jeff Stowe. “This new state-of-the-art building will help serve the growing population and provide our citizens with the quality care they want, need and deserve.”
