New provider coming to Winder to improve access to care

Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) is continuing to invest in the Barrow County area as the region grows and residents search for health care. Its family medicine practice inside Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Barrow is addressing those needs by bringing in Angela Anderson, FNP, who is now accepting new patients.

“I’m so excited about my new role in family medicine,” said Anderson, who is transitioning from a longtime role with NGPG Urgent Care. “I already love this community and am honored to grow alongside it.”

Anderson earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Georgia and went on to earn her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner there as well. After gaining experience in women’s health, urgent care, nephrology and allergy practices, Anderson is looking forward to bringing all of that specialized expertise to NGPG Winder, where she’ll be able to care for all aspects of her patients’ health.

When she’s not at work, Anderson enjoys spending time with her friends and family, which includes 13 grandchildren. She enjoys traveling and exploring new places – like the Alaskan cruise she just went on – and going to as many University of Georgia football games as she can.

NGPG Winder is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is located inside NGMC Barrow at 314 North Broad Street, Suite 250. Call 770-867-4146 to schedule an appointment with Anderson, or visit ngpg.org/anderson to learn more.
